Lettering has been a trend in recent years as it is a beautiful way to write and add life to any work of art. That's why today we bring you a guide so you know which are the most suitable lettering markers according to your level.

What is lettering?
In a nutshell, lettering can be defined as the art of drawing letters. Unlike calligraphy, in this type of writing, you can lift your hand and take it off the paper at any point in the stroke because you are drawing. This aspect greatly expands the range of possibilities when using this type of lettering because, being a drawing, almost anything can be done.
How to know which lettering markers you need?
If you are new to the world of lettering, you have surely started researching and have come across an immense number of options for lettering markers, types of paper, and other materials used to create this art.

Don't be overwhelmed! Here's a mini-guide to the markers you can find at Panafargo, depending on your skill level.
But first, it's important to know three basic aspects of markers:
- The thickness of the letter is determined by the size of the nib: if we have a very small nib, the thickness will be thin, and if we have a very large one, the thickness will be thick.
- The flexibility of the nib. It is recommended to use more flexible markers because they tend to last a bit longer than markers with thick nibs and also glide better when tracing letters.
- You need to know if they are water-based or alcohol-based, as this will determine the finish of the lettering and what materials you can use them on.
With this in mind, we can now tell you about the types of markers you will find in our account.
- Lettering brush pens: Brush pens are a good option to start lettering. They have a medium but tends to be stiff nib, so if you don't know how to use them, you can easily damage them. They are very good for use in decorations due to their wide range of colors and their price.
- Prismacolor brush tip markers: These are the ideal markers for people who are starting to do lettering. They are affordable, have a wide range of colors, and the tip is very soft and flexible, which allows for thin and small letters, as well as large and thick ones.
They are water-based, which allows colors to be mixed, and they will look amazing when you use them to create gradients or when you want to use two colors in a letter.
- Edding brush tip markers: These markers are also good for beginners and are of excellent quality. You can use them to start, but we recommend them for when you are at an intermediate level. Their tip is thin and a bit smaller, which will allow you to make thinner and finer letters.

- Karin markers: Karin markers are designed for professional lettering. You need to know the technique to use them properly and not damage them. There is a wide variety of colors; you can find neon markers, pastels, bright, graphic markers ideal for painting on dark bases, metallics, and many more. Their tip is very soft and flexible, which will allow you to create incredible designs.
