The manual stapler consists of four articulated elements mounted on an axis:
- The base, which has two figures that guide the ends of the staple to bend them properly, either bringing them together or spreading them apart.
- The staple loader, at the end of which there are two slots: the upper one, through which the cutter enters; and the lower one, through which the staple exits.
- The pusher, inserted into the loader, which slides on a rod and is actuated by a spring to push the staples towards the slot.
- The cover, which incorporates a cutter that, when lowered, drives the first staple from the loader into the paper.
