How does an easel work?

It consists of three vertical poles joined at one end. A swivel mechanism allows the central pole to move away from the other two, forming a tripod. The two non-swiveling poles have a horizontal piece on which the canvas is placed. Measure the length of the legs to ensure they are at a comfortable working height. For good distribution of the easel legs, an angle of 65 degrees from the horizontal, or 25 degrees from the edge of the top board, will work very well; the sum of these angles should be 90 degrees.
