Wood pencils. 100% latex-free eraser. The Mirado 2 Pencil in Triangular, Hexagonal, and Round barrel is a writing or drawing instrument consisting of a lead or stick of pigment (generally graphite and a special grease or clay) in a thin wooden cylinder.

How is it made?

Mirado 2 Pencils in Triangular, Hexagonal, and Round barrels are manufactured industrially by mixing finely ground graphite powder and clay, adding water, forming long leads that are fired in a kiln (thermally insulated compartments). The resulting leads are immersed in molten oil or wax, which seeps into the tiny holes of the material, resulting in smoother writing. A wooden plank with several long parallel grooves is cut to form a slat, and the graphite and clay strips are inserted into the grooves. Another grooved plank is glued on top, so that the final assembly is cut into individual pencils, which are then varnished or painted. **Images may be product references and examples*Subject to changes in price and availability of quantities and colors; we will contact you if any changes occur
