Balsa wood sheets are made from the lightest known wood. One of the preferred materials for constructing models and mock-ups.  It is a lightweight and resistant wood sheet, easy to use and durable, making it ideal for model making.  Due to its properties, it is recommended for carpentry activities or academic work, as it acts as an acoustic and temperature insulator.  It comes in wide boards to cover larger spaces, roofs, or ramps in scale prototypes.

What are balsa wood sheets used for?  

  • Mainly for aeromodelling, architectural models, and general modeling. 
  • Construction of tanks for chemical products, tubs, bathtubs for wind generators, automobiles, trucks, boats.  

How are balsa wood sheets used?  

  • Balsa is very easy to work with, and there is no need to use power saws or any other tools normally used for hardwoods. With a utility knife or a hand saw and a sanding block, you can work with it comfortably.  
  • Therefore, it can be cut, sawn, bent (when the grain direction allows it), sanded, and glued.
