What is a drawing pencil?

Staedtler drawing pencils are of high quality. They are specially made for drawing and writing, sketching and outlining, with a range of gray tones for a wide variety of results with metallic finishes. They are made with wood from ecologically certified forests.

Who is the Staedtler drawing pencil for?

They are high quality with graphite lead for drawing, suitable for professional artists and designers. The pencils vary from hard to soft, which allows for drawings with different tones, depth, and shadows, thus achieving detailed technical drawings and artistic works with complete comfort and the possibility of choosing a specific stroke type. The variations are based on the graphite hardness grade, ranging from 8B to 2H:

• The softest graphite is between 8B and B to create more shading and sketches.
• From H to 2H are the hardest for making dark and firm lines.
• HB and F have intermediate hardness.

Mixing several pencils results in an uneven outcome, so it is important to know what effect you want to achieve and choose the right pencil for each stroke.   Staedtler drawing pencils come in the following presentations:

• Set of 6 pencils: 6 pencils of different gradations: 8B, 7B, 6B, 4B, 2B, and HB, with a range of gray tones for a wide variety of results with a metallic finish.
