What Are Materials for Outdoor Dioramas?

Outdoor diorama materials consist of multiple structures which can be governmental, such as a mayor's office and a police station; we also find public buildings like shopping malls and airports, or private structures such as houses (which can be urban or rural), and buildings of different sizes and styles.

Each of the buildings has its key pieces or objects that fulfill the characteristics of the structure. This makes it very complicated to manufacture piece by piece each building found on the streets, which is why we present a list of all the outdoor diorama elements you can buy here at Panafargo.

• Farm:

  Made of cardboard, the farm measures 3.5 cm high, 3.3 cm wide, the base of the farm is made of chipboard, measuring 6.4 cm long, 5.8 cm wide, it has a wooden tractor 2.5 cm wide, 1.7 cm high with 1 cm wheels made of foamy.

   
• Airport: It is a two-story building with different corridors, it has 7 different entrances, on top of the roof is the observation tower floor, a bridge under the second floor to go to the side of the airport where the plane is located.

• Shopping Center: Building with 2 floors, it has large windows all around, and entrances on all sides, with one entrance for the parking lot. Trees can also be seen around it. Measurements 6.2 wide, 8cm long, and 4.3cm high.

Made of detailed cardboard prints of 2 towers with stone finish, where the gas pump is attached. Large roof with decorations and signs of the main gas station brands. Measurements: 5 wide, 9cm long and 6cm high  

• Police Station:

• Factory: It is a building with large entrances, 2 main ones and one for a warehouse, it has 4 stories high. Measurements 6.1cm wide, 8.1cm long and 4.5cm high

 

• Hospital:

 

• Large Church with High Roof:

Made of cardboard with a foam base, it contains a main door, a back door, glass windows with floral designs, and in the back it has four stained glass windows with religious images; it has two parts, the taller one measures 6 cm high, 2.1 cm wide, the smaller one measures 2.3 cm high, 2.3 cm wide.

The complete church measures 4.7 cm wide, 7.7 cm long, the foam base measures 8.3 cm long, 5.1 cm wide.

 

• Medium Church with Tower:

Made of cardboard with a base of the same material, it has stained glass windows with religious images and a tower with a stained glass cross and bells on the sides. The tower measures 6.6 cm high, 1.5 cm wide, the base measures 6.9 cm long and 4.9 cm wide.

What Is The History Of Diorama Materials?

A diorama is a scale model of an object, construction, or artifact. Depending on the piece, multiple materials are used to add functions, volume, texture, or any appearance that visually approximates the original model.

Its origins date back hundreds of years, being primarily used for warfare. Groups of soldiers using a map (which can be considered a diorama) used pieces representing their troops, enemy troops, settlements, and more. Over time, it has been refined and transformed into an art form, but it is also used in professional concepts such as architecture.
