★★★★★ What is XL glue and what is it used for?

XL glue is a multifunctional contact cement, useful for bonding wood veneers, wood boards, paneling, metal sheets, and all types of processes requiring high temperature resistance. Traditional XL adhesive has been designed for the wood and upholstery industries. Due to its characteristics, it is ideal for bonding wood with plywood, Formica (high-pressure laminate), veneer, leather, rubber, textiles, ceramics, etc.

Available in 4 sizes: 60ml, 120ml, 375ml, and 750ml.

What is XL glue made of?

A good-performance contact adhesive made with high-quality chloroprene rubbers and phenolic resins. Designed with the appropriate solids content, viscosity, and open time for perfect performance in medium-demanding bonds. It has a characteristic organic solvent odor. It can be applied with a brush, trowel, spatula, spreaders, or mechanically.

How to use XL glue?

  1. Ensure that the surfaces to be joined are free of dust, grease, paint, moisture, release agents, or other non-stick agents that could prevent the adhesive from functioning properly.
  2. Apply a uniform layer of Traditional XL to the surfaces to be joined.
  3. Allow the adhesive to dry for 15-20 minutes, or until it appears dry, depending on the ambient temperature.a. On porous substrates, it may be necessary to apply a second coat of adhesive.
  4. Make the bond, applying uniform pressure using clamps or by adequately tapping with a hammer.
  5. To optimize bond strength, heat, and moisture resistance, it is recommended to mix Traditional XL with Pegaucho Vulcanizing Agent.a. The recommended level of Vulcanizing Agent is 3-5% by weight relative to the adhesive and depending on the type of material.
  6. Maximum bond strength is achieved 72 hours after bonding.
