What is the Correct Way to Use Modeling Clay? 

The first thing we need to do is knead the clay before starting to shape the object. It is normal for clay to develop cracks or lose its smoothness and malleability as we use it and it is exposed to air. We can restore it by adding water to the clay; simply moistening your hands will suffice. Thanks to its softness, the clay can be worked on a potter's wheel and modeled with tools such as spatulas and more. If you wish to join two parts, it is necessary to make score marks with an instrument on each end to be joined and moisten (with the same amount of water) both ends; otherwise, the elaborated piece will separate at the joint once it begins to dry. To store the clay, it should be wrapped in plastic material to ensure it is not exposed to air, preventing it from hardening. If it does harden, it can be submerged in water.
