What Are Exterior Model Materials? 

Exterior model materials consist of multiple structures, which can be governmental, such as a city hall or police station; we also find public buildings like shopping malls and airports, or private structures like houses (which can be urban or rural), and buildings of different sizes and styles.  

Each building has its key pieces or objects that meet the characteristics of the structure, which makes it very complicated to manufacture piece by piece every building we find on the streets. For this reason, we present a list of all the exterior locations for models that you can buy here at Panafargo. 

• Farm:

  Made of cardboard, the farm measures 3.5 cm high, 3.3 cm wide. The base of the farm is made of strawboard, measuring 6.4 cm long, 5.8 cm wide, and includes a wooden tractor 2.5 cm wide, 1.7 cm high with 1 cm wheels made of foam.

   
• Airport:It is a two-story building with different corridors and 7 different entrances. On the roof is the observation tower floor, and a bridge under the second floor leads to the side of the airport where the airplane is located.

Measurements: 9cm wide, 11cm long, and 7.3cm high.

• Small house:Two-story house with balconies and beautiful windows. Measurements: 3cm wide, 3cm high, 3.5cm long.

Made of cardstock with highly detailed stone-finish twin towers, to which the gas pump is attached. Large roof with decorations and signs of the main gas station brands.Measurements: 5 wide, 9cm long, and 6cm high 

• Police Station:

• Factory:It is a building with large entrances, 2 main and one for a warehouse, and is four stories high.Measurements: 6.1cm wide, 8.1cm long, and 4.5cm high

 

• Hospital:

 

• Large High-Roof Church:

Made of cardboard with a foam base, it features a main door, a back door, glass windows with floral designs, and four stained-glass windows with religious images at the back. It has two parts: the taller part measures 6 cm high, 2.1 cm wide; the smaller part measures 2.3 cm high, 2.3 cm wide. 

The complete church measures 4.7 cm wide, 7.7 cm long, and the foam base measures 8.3 cm long, 5.1 cm wide.

 

• Medium Church with Tower:

Made of cardboard with a base of the same material, it features stained-glass windows with religious images and a tower with a stained-glass cross and bells on the sides. The tower measures 6.6 cm high, 1.5 cm wide, and the base measures 6.9 cm long and 4.9 cm wide.

What Is The History Of Model Materials?  

A model is a scaled representation of an object, construction, or artifact. Depending on the piece, multiple materials are used to add functions, volume, texture, or any appearance that visually approaches the original model.

Its origins date back hundreds of years, primarily used for war. Groups of soldiers using a map (which can be considered a model) would use pieces representing their troops, enemy troops, settlements, and more. Over time, it has been perfected and transformed into an art, but it is also used in professional fields like architecture.
